01Three Generations, One Name: Body Architecture and Dimension Differences

The LX-platform body has a lower, wider stance than either earlier generation, with a longer, more steeply raked hood. Within the Gen 3, Dodge built the R/T, Citadel, GT, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat trims on the same overall body dimensions. The outdoor-cover case is the same across all Gen 3 trims. The Hellcat introduces one exception.
The Hellcat's functional Billetproof dual-element hood scoop is not a cosmetic piece. It is connected to the engine's air intake path and protrudes approximately 2.5 inches from the hood surface at the center of the longest, flattest panel on the vehicle. When a standard Durango cover is laid over the Hellcat hood, the fabric tents above the scoop. The tented section creates a pocket. At 15 mph wind speed, the tented fabric acts as a small sail, oscillating against the scoop perimeter with every gust. Can the Ultimum stay on during an active hailstorm?
Yes. Leave the cover in place during a hail event — it will perform better on the vehicle than off it.
