Why this vehicle needs the right cover
The Honda Civic spans seven US generations — 5th through 11th gen (1992 to present) — across sedan, coupe, and hatchback body styles. The coupe was discontinued after the 10th generation in 2021. The Type R hatchback (FK8 for 10th gen, FL5 for 11th gen) has a wider lower body and a factory rear wing that requires a trim-specific fitment pattern separate from the standard Civic hatchback.
Generation and body style together determine the correct cover. A 10th-gen coupe has a different roofline and C-pillar angle than a 10th-gen sedan. An 11th-gen hatchback differs dimensionally from a 10th-gen hatchback. A Si trim in any generation shares its exterior body with the base Civic of that generation and does not require a separate pattern.
DaShield covers are designed at our facility in Buena Park, California, with generation-specific and body-style-specific patterns for the Civic across all seven generations. Confirm your year, generation, and body style before selecting. For Type R owners: confirm FK8 or FL5 and select the Type R fitment explicitly.

Why Civic Owners Choose DaShield
The Civic's daily commuter role creates a specific UV exposure problem. Millions of Civics park outdoors in Sun Belt states — California, Arizona, Texas, Nevada — where NOAA UV index ratings exceed 8 (high to very high) for most of the year. DOE data shows painted vehicle surfaces reaching 170–190°F in direct sunlight. Repeated thermal cycling breaks down clear coat adhesion, leading to oxidation and peeling that costs $1,800–$3,500 per panel to repair.
Vanguard UHD — $199 (Recommended for most Civic owners)
5-layer woven construction with a 5-year warranty. Woven fabric architecture intercepts UV wavelengths before they reach the paint and moderates surface temperature through the daily heat cycle. Handles rain, UV, and wind-blown debris. Designed at our facility in Buena Park, California with body-style-specific patterns for sedan, coupe, hatchback, and Type R configurations. At $40 per year over the warranty period, the UHD is the primary recommendation for any Civic that parks outdoors daily.
Ultimum — $209 (For Type R owners and long-term keepers)
Multi-layer woven construction with a lifetime warranty. If your Civic is a FK8 or FL5 Type R, or if you plan to keep the car for ten or more years, the Ultimum removes the renewal decision with a single lifetime purchase. The $10 premium over the UHD buys indefinite coverage.
Vanguard HD — $139 (Budget-conscious commuter)
4-layer woven construction with a 2-year warranty. UV and rain protection at a lower price point for owners managing a tighter budget or planning to sell within two years.
