The Hyundai Elantra has grown 6.9 inches across five US market generations — from 177.2 inches in the XD (2001–2006) to 184.1 inches in the current CN7 (2021–present). The CN7 alone is 3.6 inches longer than the AD generation it replaced. A cover specified for one generation creates fit tension on another, producing contact pressure at the rear quarter panel on each removal cycle. CN7 N Line and Elantra N owners face an additional layer: body kits with revised front fascias, rear diffusers, and side skirts that standard CN7 covers do not account for.

DaShield's Vanguard UHD is a 5-layer woven cover with a soft inner face, specified to Elantra generation and variant dimensions. For owners parking outdoors daily — the most common scenario for this model — UHD addresses UV accumulation on Phantom Black and Cyber Gray metallic horizontal surfaces, door contact in surface lot environments, and debris abrasion without generating friction on the clearcoat during daily removal cycles.

Designed in Buena Park, California. Available in UHD ($199/5yr), Ultimum ($209/Lifetime), HD ($139/2yr), and SoftTec Satin for indoor storage.

Most car covers for the Hyundai Elantra treat the model as a single fixed dimension. The Elantra is five distinct body generations spanning 6.9 inches of exterior growth. A cover sized to a 2015 MD (179.1 inches) will pull with tension at the rear when placed on a 2022 CN7 (184.1 inches). That tension is where paint contact damage begins — not from catastrophic abrasion, but from repeated low-pressure cycling of cover fabric across the rear quarter panel edge with each daily removal.

DaShield specifications map to each generation: XD 177.2 inches, HD 177.0 inches, MD 179.1 inches, AD 180.5 inches, CN7 184.1 inches. For CN7 owners, the N Line and Elantra N body kits require additional variant confirmation — the Elantra N's front lip, rear diffuser, and side skirts extend the lower body profile beyond standard CN7 dimensions.

The Vanguard UHD inner face contacts Phantom Black and Cyber Gray metallic clearcoat without cycling abrasive particles across the surface. Horizontal surface UV degradation on these colors presents as milky gloss loss on the hood and roof — clearcoat material loss that polishing cannot restore. AATCC 16 UV resistance standards govern the UHD's fabric construction, reducing UV transmission to the horizontal paint surfaces where Elantra owners who keep cars longer than average accumulate the most cumulative exposure damage.

Five-layer woven construction. Soft inner face. Generation-specific fit across all five US market Elantra generations. 5-year warranty on the Vanguard UHD, lifetime warranty on the Ultimum for owners planning an extended ownership horizon in high-UV outdoor storage. Wipe-down maintenance only for the woven lines — no machine washing required. For Elantra owners in apartment complex surface lot environments, where the car is uncovered for 8 to 10 hours of direct UV exposure daily, the construction difference between a soft-face woven cover and a generic non-woven alternative accumulates across multiple ownership years.
