Why this vehicle needs the right cover
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG carries a fitment problem that catches most buyers off guard: the AMG-specific rear fender flares extend 1.5 inches per side beyond the standard C-Class body. A cover matched to a C300 or any generic mid-size sedan template will perch on top of the flare rather than draping over it — the cover edge rests against the painted flare top, creating a contact-pressure line that abrades the finish with every install and removal cycle.
The two C63 generations compound this. The W204 (2008–2015) measures 182.5 inches. The W205 (2015–2021) is 184.5 inches — two inches longer — with a more pronounced widebody treatment and a more aggressive front fascia geometry. A W204 cover placed on a W205 sits short at the rear, leaving the painted diffuser exposed.

1. Widebody-specific template. The C63 AMG rear fender flares extend 1.5 inches per side beyond the standard C-Class body. This is not a minor dimensional variance — it changes the cover's required width at the rear quarters enough that a standard C-Class cover will not seat correctly. Instead of draping over the flare and clearing the painted surface, a standard-width cover sits on top of the flare lip and holds tension at the flare's painted edge. Over repeated install cycles, that contact edge produces micro-abrasion on the flare's finish. The C63 AMG template in DaShield's fitment system accounts for the wider rear body profile, draping over the flare correctly without creating a contact line on the flare top.
2. Generation-specific fit across W204 and W205. The W204 C63 AMG (2008–2015) is 182.5 inches overall. The W205 C63 AMG (2015–2021) is 184.5 inches overall — two inches longer — with a different front fascia overhang geometry and a more aggressive front splitter on the W205. A W204 cover placed on a W205 will be short at the rear, leaving the rear diffuser and bumper exposed. DaShield maps W204 and W205 as separate fitment entries.
3. Non-abrasive woven face for AMG paint finishes. Obsidian Black Metallic and Selenite Grey Metallic — two of AMG's most common deep-gloss finishes — show contact-drag swirl under any directional light angle. A cover with a non-woven inner face drags across these finishes during removal, producing visible contact marks on the clear coat. The Ultimum uses a woven inner face that slides consistently during cover removal, avoiding the drag-abrasion pattern that non-woven materials create on deep metallic surfaces.
