The MG TD (produced 1950–1953, approximately 29,664 units) is a 145-inch roadster with a body geometry that differs fundamentally from any modern vehicle. Key fitment dimensions: 145 in length, 59.0 in width, 55.5 in height with hood up.

The TD features exposed cycle fenders — separate front and rear fenders standing proud of the body — which a cover must bridge without applying outward tension at the fender crowns. The windscreen folds flat for racing, changing the hood height profile.

The spare tire mounts externally at the rear, adding approximately 10–12 inches of depth behind the bodywork. A cover sized for a modern British sports car (MGB at 153.3 in or Miata at 154–160 in) will be 8–15 inches too long and will not account for the cycle fender profile.
