The first priority — energy dispersion — is addressed by the multi-layer woven construction. Each woven layer adds a lateral force-transfer pathway. More pathways mean more of the hailstone's kinetic energy distributes across the fabric surface before reaching the panel below. The Ultimum does not carry a numbered layer count in its name because the construction is a continuous woven assembly, not a stack of discrete sheets. The architecture is the protection.

The second priority — outdoor durability — is addressed by the waterproof barrier integrated into the woven assembly and the UV-resistant yarn treatment. A cover that degrades in its first season of sun and rain exposure is not a permanent outdoor solution.
